I don’t really like to get too personal
Scared that if I open up it could be hurtful
Worried that my secrets can be one day used against me
So I keep it bottled in like a can of Pepsi
See it’s fine and protected until you go and shake it

And then I explode I’m saying “Oh, no!”
How can I recover when my cover’s been blown
I’m supposed to be the pillar. The one that people lean on
The one to tell you everything is gonna be OK and you can be strong
The one to reassure you. The one to reaffirm you
The one to help you rebuild and salvage any pieces
That have burned to the ground I’m not used to being down
When I say it out loud it still has a weird sound
Bitter taste in my mouth but I ain't gon’ lie

Man I’m really good at hiding behind a smile
This facade has been fooling everybody for a while
Been lying through my teeth
Surprised that my nose isn’t longer than the Nile
But I admit I’m living in denial
And even saying that sucks
I didn’t know this boulder would be weighing that much
I thought that I could manage it
Thought that I could handle it
Clearly the jokes on me cuz it’s damaging
My health and my relationships
I need all the help from my acquaintances
And as much as I believe that I could do it on my own
What’s the point of reaching the tippy top when you alone
And share all the fruits of your labor with your neighbor
Because you can’t take your paper when you meet your maker
